Mohammed Polo has thrown his support behind Otto Addo for his decision to drop Andre Ayew from the Black Stars squad.

The former Dortmund coach left out Andre Ayew from his latest squad for the upcoming 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic.

This decision left many in a state of shock but for Mohammed Polo, it’s a normal decision by Addo and he supports it.

Reacting to the decision, Polo explained it’s a phase in a footballer’s career and every player has their time so Andre should come to terms with the reality.

“Football is like that, everyone has their time. It is natural that anything that has a start, has an end. All of us should be playing by now if is not normal in football. He should take it in good faith.

“When Gyan was leaving the national team, they took the captainship from him to Dede and he left. That is exactly what is happening to the latter too,” Polo said in an interview with Connect 97.1FM.

The last time Andre Ayew was dropped from the Black Stars was in 2023 when Ghana played against Mexico and USA in an international friendly and lost both.
