The drama involving Ghana Premier League clubs Real Tamale United (RTU) and Dreams Football Club continues to unfold.

The latest twist to the controversy has Dreams FC file a protest against RTU for allegedly fielding unqualified players for a league game against the 2023-2024 CAF Confederation Cup semifinalists.

In the aforementioned game, Dreams FC beat RTU 8-1 in the penultimate league game of the season for both teams.

The massive win all but confirmed Dreams stay in the league with RTU relegated even before competing against Dreams.

According to the protest filed by Dreams today at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), the Still Believe team stated that the team’s captain and manager raised concerns over the identities of RTU players before the game.

In a related development, the GFA has charged RTU over the same incident alleging that fielding an unregistered player for a Ghana Premier League is a breach of Section 34 (6)(d) of the GFA’s Disciplinary Code. (Click highlighted text to read full story)
