(Seoul=Yonhap News) On the 30th, the People Power Party continued its offensive of criticism against Chung Cheong-rae, chairman of the Legislative and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly, who is also a member of the Democratic Party.

In a commentary, spokesperson Kim Hye-ran said, “Chairman Chung’s high-handed attitude is becoming more and more evident,” and added, “I advise him to have the qualities of a Judiciary Committee chairman and the character and dignity of a member. of the National Assembly.”

Spokesman Kim emphasized that “hearings are a place to listen to testimonies and statements about the incident and to provide the public with the right to know,” and that “it is natural that witnesses should be respected and have a minimum of courtesy and formality in order to find out the truth.”

He continued, “When Chairman Chung was reported to the National Assembly Ethics Committee, instead of reflecting on it, he showed a hostile attitude by suing the People Power Party despite insulting him,” adding, “I hope Chairman Chung himself should keep in. ” Mind that it is the people, not the representatives of the MDP and a small group of ardent supporters.”

The People Power Party also said that Rep. Kim Hyun of the Democratic Party of Korea raised his voice against the staff of the government building after he was denied entry during a protest visit to the Korea Communications Commission on 28 March, adding, “The first thing to do is to apologize to the staff who shed tears.”

In a commentary, Park Jun-tae, a spokesperson for the House of Representatives, said, “Even though it is the essence of politics to wipe away the tears of the socially disadvantaged, (Rep. Kim) has instead intimidated an employee who has done nothing wrong and made him cry,” adding, “If (Rep. Kim) has both humility and consideration, the respect of the people will follow.”

The party’s special media committee released a statement saying, “Rep. Kim issued a statement refuting the ruling party’s commentary. Without remorse, they are trying to move on with a forced statement of explanation,” he said, releasing two videos to the media related to the situation at the time of Rep. Kim’s visit to the Presidential Committee.
