Marlins Swim Club coach, Lady Rowena Majid-Michel, says the team has undergone some changes since winning the maiden edition of the Channel One Swimming Championship but is still optimistic about the club’s chances for the second edition this weekend.

The second edition of the Channel One Swimming Championship takes place at the Borteyman Sports Complex on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 with over 150 swimmers set to compete.

Marlins won the 2023 edition of the Channel One Swimming Championship after scooping up 63 medals in all with Legon Sharks coming in second place with 41 medals.

Swimmers will compete across Under 10, Under 13 and Under 15 age categories and coach Majid-Michel is hopeful of another top finish this year.

“Last season was very different from this season, I will say that. We had a very good season last year. We had a couple of swimmers who have left the country since. We did the same thing we are doing this season; we trained hard, we are still training hard but a few things have, we are still optimistic.”
