English Premier League side Leicester City have submitted an official bid to Crystal Palace for Ghana Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew.
Jordan Ayew is likely to replace Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho who departed Leicester to sign for Spanish side Sevilla.
This is according to Journalist Alex Nixon who reported that the veteran player has attracted serious interest from The Foxes with his connection to Leicester manager Steve Cooper playing a key role in the development.
Ayew played under Cooper at Swansea City before the former Olympique Marseille joined Crystal Palace. Ayew and his brother, Andre, starred for The Swans under Cooper who recently coached Nottingham Forest.
This report comes in the wake of Palace’s 3-1 win over fellow EPL side Wolverhampton Wanderers in preseason with Ghana’s Jordan Ayew and Jeffrey Schlupp scoring in the win.
Schlupp scored from long distance after sweeping home a loose ball in the 35th minute before Jordan Ayew brilliantly controlled a long pass and slipped the ball past Wolves goalkeeper Daniel Bentley.
Ayew was recently placed on the list of players Crystal Palace were ready to listen to transfer offers from clubs as Palace bid to sign Emile Smith Rowe from Arsenal and Marseille’s Ismaila Sarr. Smith Rowe has since joined Fulham.
