The Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrew Agyapa Mercer, has been defeated by Blay Nyameke Armah, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, in the Sekondi parliamentary race for the 2024 elections.

Andrew Agyapa Mercer, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), garnered 11,084 votes, which accounted for 42.94% of the total valid votes2. In contrast, Blay Nyameke Armah secured 14,558 votes, representing 56.40% of the total valid votes2. Out of the 25,813 votes cast, 171 ballots were rejected
