Recent heavy rains have left a trail of destruction in Adumasa, a community in the Juaben Municipality in the Ashanti Region, rendering several residents homeless.

The strong winds accompanying the rains ripped off roofs, forcing many to seek refuge elsewhere in the community. For months, the affected residents struggled to find decent shelter and their lives were severely disrupted.

However, hope arrived in the form of a generous donation from Francis Owusu Akyaw, the Member of Parliament for Juaben Constituency.

Responding to the pleas of the Adumasa community, Akyaw contributed GHC10,000, 50 bags of cement, and 20 packets of roofing sheets to support the victims.

Agyapong Andrews, the Assembly Member for Adumasa Ahenbronom Electoral Area, received the donation on behalf of the community, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Mr Akyaw.

The MP assured that the items would be distributed equally among the victims, aiming to provide them with decent shelter.

This gesture is a beacon of hope for the Adumasa community, demonstrating the impact of compassionate leadership.

As climate-related disasters continue to affect communities worldwide, such acts of kindness remind us of the importance of supporting those in need.
