Asante Kotoko have officially announced their return to competitive football following a period of inactivity after the passing of Nana Pooley.

The Porcupine Warriors, who only resumed training last week, have not played any competitive matches since the unfortunate loss of their esteemed figure.

However, during a press conference held today, Head of Public Relations Sarfo Duku confirmed that Kotoko will resume action after the burial of Nana Pooley.

With the final funeral rites scheduled for March 6, the club is expected to return to competition once that is completed.

Kotoko remain focused on their Ghana Premier League title ambitions, with head coach Prosper Ogum urging the players to dedicate their performances to the late Pooley.

“His loss is deeply painful, but the best way to honor his memory is by working hard, winning games, and ultimately securing the league title in his name,” Ogum stated. “It won’t be easy, but we must stay united, focused, and determined to get the results.”

Meanwhile, Ghana Premier League clubs returned to action over the weekend in the MTN FA Cup, marking their first competitive fixtures since Pooley’s passing.
