Victory Baptist Church at Ayigya in Kumasi has marked its 40th anniversary by hosting inter-family games and competitions. The event, which drew participants from all walks of life, blended sports, community engagement, and health awareness in a day filled with fun.
The event’s purpose was to foster unity among church members while promoting the importance of good health. It also served as a platform to commemorate the church’s significant milestone of 40 years of service and outreach.
A variety of exciting games were organised, catering to participants of all ages and abilities. Other activities included volleyball, ludo, draught, sack races, Oware, penalty shootouts, a thrilling tug of war, and a bouncy castle for the children.

After hours of friendly competition and teamwork, the Adom Family from Oduom-Anwomaso emerged as the overall winners, taking home the top prize. Their victory added to the spirit of togetherness and celebration that showcased the power of collaboration and sportsmanship.
In addition to the games, the event also placed a strong emphasis on health and wellness. A health check station was set up for participants to receive free health screenings. The initiative underscored the church’s commitment to the holistic well-being of its members and the broader community.

The event was graced by a special address from Rev. Dr. Charles Owusu Ampofo, the President of the Ministers Conference of the Ghana Baptist Convention and Senior Pastor of Victory Baptist Church.
Reflecting on the significance of the day, which coincided with Ghana’s 68th Independence Day, Rev. Dr. Ampofo spoke about the importance of protecting the peace, unity, and love shared within both the church and the country at large.

He emphasized that such celebrations were vital in maintaining strong, loving relationships within the church community and beyond. “Today, as we mark both our nation’s independence and the 40th anniversary of Victory Baptist Church, it is essential that we continue to protect the peace and unity that we cherish,” he stated.
Rev. Dr. Ampofo also expressed his gratitude to the church members for their enthusiasm and participation, noting that such activities would continue to promote unity and ensure the ongoing health and well-being of the church community.

The event not only highlighted the church’s longstanding commitment to serving its members but also served as a reminder of the importance of unity, health, and community engagement.
