Afro Harmony, the band known for gracing big stages like the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, has opened up about who they looked up to when they first started their musical journey.
Speaking on E Vibes Musical Band Series, the band leader, Junior, revealed that the globally-acclaimed group Maroon 5 was a major source of inspiration for them in their early days.
However, Junior emphasised that while they once drew inspiration from Maroon 5, the band is now focused on carving out their own unique sound and identity.
“We used to take inspiration from Maroon 5 back then. Now we are doing our won thing and trying to create our own sound and put our own stuff out for people to know that this is Afro Harmony Band sound,“ he said.
E Vibes, the show that delves into the backgrounds of celebrated personalities excelling in their chosen fields, is focusing this season on music bands in Ghana.
Dubbed #MusicalBandSeries, the program is dedicated to celebrating and highlighting the incredible journeys of Ghanaian musical bands, showcasing their triumphs, challenges, and the bonds that keep them together.
