Prime Minister Han Deok-soo said on the 7th, “The Yoon Seok-yeol government will make ‘welfare for the weak’ the core principle of state administration and continue to strengthen the basic livelihood security system, expand customized support for the disabled, and expand customized care services for the elderly.” revealed.

At the 20th Cabinet meeting on this day, Prime Minister Han said, “The 10th marks the second anniversary of the launch of the Yoon Seok-yeol government, and we have fulfilled the mission of the times to create ‘a country where the people are the true owners’ and ‘a country that fulfills its responsibilities and role in the international community.’ “I have done my best for this,” he said.

In particular, he emphasized, “Over the past two years, despite the global complex crisis called the perfect storm, our people, businesses, and government have come together as one to create a prosperous Republic of Korea.”

He continued, “Of course, there is still a long way to go and there are many shortcomings, but in the process, we have made meaningful changes and achievements. However, there are many people among the people who are still unable to fully experience these changes and achievements in their daily lives. “It’s so heavy,” he complained.

He added, “We are reflecting on the fact that we have not been able to satisfactorily understand what the government is doing and the direction it wants to take.”

Prime Minister Han said, “As a result of consistently pursuing a growth strategy centered on the private sector and the market, the green light for economic recovery is turning on despite difficult conditions.”

He continued, “In the first quarter of this year, our economy grew by 1.3%, exceeding market expectations, thanks to solid export growth and the recovery of private investment.”

At the same time, he said, “Global institutions are also looking at our economy positively,” adding, “The OECD raised its forecast for our economic growth rate this year from 2.2% to 2.6%.”

In particular, he emphasized, “The international credit rating agency S&P predicts that the Korean economy will show high growth in the future and that GDP per capita will exceed $43,000 by 2027, when the current government’s term ends.”

In addition, he said, “As a result of adjusting the real estate policy in line with market logic and the public’s expectations, housing prices, which had skyrocketed, have shown a stabilizing trend under the current administration, reducing the burden on end-users to purchase a home.”

In addition, “As a result of changing the unreasonably promoted nuclear phase-out policy to a policy that promotes balanced development of nuclear power plants and new and renewable energy, the nuclear power plant ecosystem, which had fallen into a dead state, is recovering at a rapid pace, and greenhouse gas emissions are also continuously decreasing.” explained.

In addition, “Based on the active ROK-US alliance, we will further strengthen the security conditions of the Republic of Korea and expand our diplomatic horizons through solidarity and cooperation with friendly countries that share the core values of liberal democracy and market economy, as well as becoming a global pivotal nation.” “We are raising our status as a leader,” he added.

In response, Prime Minister Han said, “We will work harder to ensure that the actual benefits of the policy return to each and every citizen.” He added, “All public officials, including State Council members, must keep in mind at every moment that the government exists for the people.” emphasized.

In particular, “The Yoon Seok-yeol government plans to do its best to protect the socially underprivileged more closely and more thoroughly,” he said. “We will not neglect to strengthen policies for future generations, such as children’s policies and youth policies, and will promote high-tech industries to secure sustainable growth engines.” “We will also expand investment in training,” he said.

Prime Minister Han said, “Looking back on the past two years, successful policies have something in common: they had the support and cooperation of the people. I hope that members of the State Council will always keep that in mind.”

Furthermore, “Before announcing any policy, big or small, I hope that you will preemptively examine the limitations and pros and cons of the policy from the perspective of the people, not the government’s perspective, and consider specifically what benefits will be provided to each and every citizen.” requested.

In addition, Prime Minister Han said, “The reform tasks necessary for a sustainable future for the Republic of Korea must be pursued consistently and with long-term focus while coordinating conflicting interests.” He added, “In order to overcome the wave of low birth rate and aging that is coming like a tsunami, labor “The three major reforms, including education and pension, and medical reform must bear fruit, and climate change is also a task that must be responded to strategically from a global perspective,” he said.

Prime Minister Han said, “The Republic of Korea has made continuous progress by overcoming numerous hardships with the wisdom and integrated power of its wise people.” He added, “Looking back on the past two years, the Yoon Seok-yeol government has only thought of the national interests and people of the Republic of Korea and fulfilled the calling of the times. “We will quietly pursue the task,” he added.
