Manchester United are set to part ways with Erik ten Hag following the FA Cup final clash against Manchester City on Saturday, according to the Guardian.

Ten Hag, who joined the club two years ago, is expected to leave after a challenging season.

Manchester United concluded the Premier League campaign in eighth place, marking their lowest finish since 1990. Their last chance for European qualification hinges on defeating Premier League champions Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

The Guardian claims sources close to the situation suggest that even securing victory in the FA Cup final would not be sufficient to salvage Ten Hag’s position.

The decision to replace the manager is a significant move, particularly under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s and his associates’ leadership since Ineos acquired a minority stake and assumed control of football operations.

Manchester United have already begun exploring potential replacements, with Thomas Tuchel, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, Graham Potter, and Thomas Frank among the names under consideration.

Despite Ten Hag’s previous success in clinching the Carabao Cup and securing a third-place finish last season, he has struggled to replicate those achievements this term. Additionally, several of his signings have failed to meet expectations.
