Osman Bukari pledges to help Austin FC after completing MLS move

Former Red Star Belgrade winger Osman Bukari has committed to giving his all to aid Austin FC after completing his move to the Major League Soccer (MLS) side.

Bukari, 25, signed a contract with the Texas-based club that extends until 2027, with an option to prolong it by an additional year to 2028. His status as a Designated Player positions him among the top earners at the club.

Bukari took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his enthusiasm, responding to a post announcing his arrival with the words, “Happy to be here.”

In an interview with Austin FC media following the signing of his three-year contract, Bukari stated, “I am very motivated and excited to join Austin FC. I want to do everything I can to help this team, this city, and this fanbase to achieve their goals.”

Bukari brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality from his time with Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade.

During his two seasons with the club, he played a pivotal role in securing multiple titles, including back-to-back Serbian Cup and League titles.

Additionally, he competed in the UEFA Champions League, showcasing his skills on one of the biggest stages in European football. In the 2023/24 season, Bukari registered seven goals and five assists in 24 league games, following an even more impressive campaign the previous year.

His stellar performances have not gone unnoticed on the international stage. Bukari has become an integral player for the Ghanaian national team, featuring in the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), along with various qualifiers and friendly matches.

Currently, Bukari is with the Ghana squad set to face Mali on June 6 and the Central African Republic (CAR) on June 10 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
