The ordinance selected this time is the “Gyeonggi-do Ordinance on the Promotion and Support of Wellness Tourism,” which aims to provide a basis for fostering and supporting wellness tourism that pursues both physical and mental happiness, health, and healing while pursuing the original purpose of travel. .
Wellness tourism is a tourism industry based on lodging, and has been recognized for its contribution to legislative activities that promote the development of the local economy by revitalizing Gyeonggi-do’s domestic tourism demand.
In fact, according to the 2023 survey of visitors to major tourist attractions in Gyeonggi-do, 91.3% of visitors were identified as day-trippers, showing that Gyeonggi-do is having difficulty revitalizing domestic tourism.
