EC yet to declare official results

The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has conceded defeat to his main contender in the 2024 presidential election.

Dr. Bawumia called John Dramani Mahama approximately 16 hours after the close of polls. Despite this, the Electoral Commission has yet to officially announce the winner of the presidential election.

This delay has led the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to express concern over the Electoral Commission’s (EC) delay in announcing the results of Saturday’s general elections.

According to the NDC, the delay in declaring the results is fueling tensions and contributing to pockets of violence in parts of the country.

But the EC in a flyer has announced it will officially declare the presidential results at a presser at 3:45pm on Sunday, December 8.
