Nations FC defender Razak Simpson has admitted the ambition of the Abrankesie club is to win a maiden Ghana Premier League crown this term.

Nations were promoted last season from the Division One League and have since shown a lot of promise.

Building on their 7th place finish from their first season in Ghana’s top flight, Nations are currently on 32 points in 5th position, two points adrift of the league summit.

After a brief hiatus in the Ghana Premier League, due to violence that ensued in Nsoatre, which led to the tragic demise of Kotoko fan Francis Frimpong, the resumption of the league sees Nations take on joint table-toppers Bibiani GoldStars.

Looking ahead to the mouthwatering clash, Razak Simpson, who has been one of Nations standout performers this season, admitted winning the league is their ultimate goal.

“We are training hard each and every day on the pitch and we are going to Bibiani, who are first on the league table. It won’t be easy but sure we are going,” he said on 3Sports’ GPL Xpress.

“We are training hard and hopefully when we get there we’ll see the result. As a team, as football club, we want to win the Premier League,”he added.

Nations FC take on Bibiani GoldStars on Sunday before hosting Medeama.
