After a thorough review of nominations submitted to it, the Board of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) has announced changes to the songwriter of the year category.

The TGMA Board provided one week error and omissions window to make corrections to nominations.

The Board, after its review found only one omission. According to a statement released on Thursday, April 3, 2025, by the Board, a review of a petition indicated that Kuami Eugene also contributed to writing of Okyeame Kwame’s ‘No Competition.’

The scheme had initially nominated only Okyeame Kwame in the songwriter of the year category using the ‘No Competition’ song which both artistes co-wrote.

But the Board has effected changes to this nomination.

“The TGMA Board has corrected the song ‘No Competition’ in the Songwriter of the Year category. The song was initially credited only to Okyeame Kwame. However, after review, we confirm that Kuami Eugene was a co-writer. The official nominees list has been updated accordingly,” the release reads.

The TGMA Board reaffirmed its commitment to fairness for artistes. “We also reiterate our dedication to educating stakeholders, leveraging the error and omission window as a valuable learning tool,” the statement added.

In ‘No Competition’, Both Kuami Eugene and Okyeame, accentuate the hustle they have been through to get to the top. The claim they have no competition because of their uniqueness and resilience.

The song was produced by Kuami Eugene and MOGBeatz.
