Daniel Dagba, a seasoned educationist, has officially taken on the role of Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South.
His confirmation was met with overwhelming support from the assembly members, and in his inaugural address, Mr. Dagba delivered a compelling and heartfelt speech that underscored his steadfast commitment to transformative public service and inclusive development.
“I am filled with a profound sense of responsibility and a firm commitment to redefine public service delivery—grounded in dedication, integrity, and the highest standards of diligence,” he remarked.
Expressing his deep gratitude to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the trust placed in him, and to the assembly members for their resounding endorsement, Mr. Dagba described his new role as “a sacred trust and sacrifice” that he embraces with “humility and resolute determination.
In addressing the assembly members, traditional leaders, stakeholders, and community members, Mr. Dagba laid out a visionary roadmap for Akatsi South, one focused on sustainable development, inclusive energy growth, and a thriving environment.
He acknowledged the unique strengths of the municipality—its rich cultural heritage, industrious citizens, and strategic location—as key drivers of progress.
However, he did not shy away from recognising the challenges facing the municipality. “I am also fully aware of the obstacles ahead—challenges in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, job creation, and the overall economic wellbeing of our people,” he said.
Nevertheless, he assured the people that “these challenges are not insurmountable. With unified trust, a shared vision, and a spirit of collaboration, we can transform these challenges into opportunities for progress and prosperity.”
Mr. Dagba committed to maintaining an open-door policy, describing his office as a “hub of dialogue, a platform for constructive engagement, and a space where your concerns, ideas, and aspirations will be taken seriously.”
He believes that “the best solutions arise from collective wisdom,” and he intends to “listen attentively” to constituents, collaborate with stakeholders, and leverage local insights in policy implementation.
To traditional and religious leaders, he extended a hand of partnership, promising “close collaboration” to ensure that development efforts honour and respect the area’s cherished cultural values. “Your wisdom, guidance, and deep understanding of our heritage are invaluable,” he added.
Turning his attention to municipal staff and departments, the MCE assured them of his full support in delivering efficient and quality public services. He pledged to provide the necessary tools and resources to help them excel in their roles.
Acknowledging the critical role of the municipality’s hardworking families and farmers, Mr. Dagba praised their contributions to food security and the local economy. “I assure you of our commitment to creating an enabling environment for your growth and prosperity,” he emphasised.
The business community, viewed as a key pillar in job creation and economic expansion, was also addressed. Mr. Dagba affirmed his readiness to foster a “conducive business environment” that supports entrepreneurship, investment, and youth employment.
Encouraging active citizen participation, the MCE reminded residents that “your voice matters, your concerns are my concerns, and I am here to serve you.”
He announced plans to engage various stakeholders in the coming days to gather insights, understand priorities, and collaboratively chart a path forward for development.
In his closing remarks, he called on all residents of Akatsi South to embrace this new chapter with hope and determination. “Together, we can make Akatsi South a model municipality—a place of quality service delivery, opportunity-driven development, and a community where every citizen can live a life of dignity.”
With his background in education and a passion for community development, Daniel Dagba’s leadership is poised to usher in a new era of responsive governance and transformative progress in Akatsi South.
