0 The National Peace Ambassador, Clemence Gyato, has called for unity among the people of Dzita and surrounding communities, stressing that peace and solidarity are essential pillars for sustainable development.
Speaking as the special guest at the 2025 edition of the Dzita Easter Homecoming Festival, he urged residents to embrace collective action as the key to meaningful transformation.
“It is only through unity that Dzita can develop and achieve the transformation it deserves. No government, individual, or organisation can bring change to a divided people. Let us bury our differences, come together as one, and build the Dzita we all dream of,” he said.
Addressing a large audience of celebrants, traditional authorities, youth groups, and dignitaries, he also encouraged the youth to step forward and take leadership in community development initiatives. He highlighted the pressing need for locally-driven solutions to persistent challenges such as coastal erosion, inadequate infrastructure, and youth unemployment.
The Dzita Easter Homecoming Festival has evolved into a vibrant cultural celebration and a key platform for community engagement and development dialogue. The 2025 edition saw a strong turnout of Dzita indigenes, including many from across Ghana and the diaspora, returning to contribute to the town’s progress.
In a notable display of governmental presence, the Chief of Staff at the Office of the Vice President, Mr Alex Segbefia, represented both the President and Vice President at the event. He reassured residents of the government’s dedication to fulfilling its development pledges to Dzita and the wider Anloga District.
“The government has not forgotten Dzita. We are well aware of the developmental needs here—from roads and schools to healthcare and coastal protection. Let me assure you that all promises made to this community will be fulfilled,” Mr Segbefia affirmed, drawing applause from attendees.
He further called on the community to maintain their strong culture of peace and cooperation, emphasising that development is a shared responsibility between government and citizens.
The festival was marked by colourful cultural performances, traditional music, and a fundraising drive to support education and sanitation projects. Generous contributions from community members and dignitaries reflected a renewed commitment to building a better Dzita.
Traditional leaders also seized the opportunity to present their concerns and aspirations to government officials, expressing hope that their voices would translate into practical policy actions.
