0 Ghana’s 100m record holder Benjamin Azamati has joined the 4x100m relay team for their upcoming 2024 World Athletics Relay Championship in the Bahamas.
The Ghana Athletics Association has confirmed Azamati’s inclusion, highlighting the significance of his participation in the crucial event.
Azamati, alongside Ibrahim Fuseini, Isaac Botsio, Sean Safo-Antwi, and Joseph Paul Amoah, aims to secure qualification for the men’s 4 x 100m relay team to the Olympic Games in Paris, France.
Scheduled for May 4 and 5, 2024, at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas, the World Athletics Relays Championship serves as a pivotal Olympic qualifier for athletes from over 40 nations.
Ranked 15th globally, the 4x100m men’s relay team is actively accumulating points and striving for automatic qualification. Their recent participation in the 2023 African Games and the Penn Relays saw them secure second place, trailing behind Nigeria and Jamaica.
