Berekum Chelsea are aiming to end the Ghana Premier League (GPL) season on a high note.

The club began the campaign with promise under Christopher Ennin, but midway through the season, Samuel Boadu took over as head coach.

While Boadu may not have the same resources, he had at previous clubs Medeama and Hearts of Oak, where he won the 2021 GPL title, the team believes in the coach’s technical expertise.

With the right blend of quality, experience, and talent, Chelsea hopes Boadu can steer them to success.

“If you have noticed we have a provisional new coach, he is now teaching us and making us aware of our mistakes gradually. This year our target is to secure a top four spot,” top scorer Stephen Amankona told 3Sports.

Currently sitting 6th in the standings, 11 points behind leaders Samartex, Chelsea has 2 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw in their last 5 matches.

The Bibires face a daunting run of fixtures against Asante Kotoko and Great Olympics, but with Samuel Boadu’s winning pedigree, they’ll aim to secure maximum points.

“It’s good, and if you look at the preparation we go through with the coach, when he teaches us we listen. He just arrived so we are taking things, one day at a time,” Amankona added.

First, they must overcome the hurdle of Hearts of Oak on match week 29.
