Two people have died, and three others are injured following the collapse of a building at London Bridge, an area in Kotokuraba, Cape Coast.
According to eyewitness reports, five people were inside the structure when it gave way.
Rescue efforts quickly pulled the survivors from the rubble, and the injured were rushed to Awim Hospital in Cape Coast for emergency treatment.
The cause of the collapse is not yet known, but local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
Preliminary information suggests the building was structurally weak and in a deteriorated state.
It was only a section of the structure that gave way.
As a safety precaution, officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) and the Ghana National Fire Service are currently demolishing the remaining parts of the building to avert any further risk to lives or property.
