Ghanaian international Christopher Bonsu Baah is reportedly close to sealing a high-profile move to Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah FC, in what could be one of Genk’s most lucrative transfer deals in recent years.
The 20-year-old winger, who joined the Belgian club from Norwegian outfit Sarpsborg two years ago, has attracted strong interest from Al Qadsiah, with negotiations said to be at an advanced stage.
While the exact transfer fee remains undisclosed, reports from Belgium suggest the amount being discussed is significantly higher than the €5.2 million Genk initially paid to acquire the player in 2023.
Bonsu Baah still has a long-term contract with Genk, running until the summer of 2028, but the club appears prepared to cash in on the winger, who has developed into a key squad member over two seasons.
He has made 90 appearances across all competitions for the Limburg-based club, scoring five goals and providing seven assists.
Al Qadsiah, who finished fourth in the Saudi Pro League last season, are looking to strengthen their squad further as they aim for domestic and continental success.
Though the final terms are yet to be finalised, Belgian media indicate that the deal is close to completion and could be announced in the coming days.
