The Muslim Journalists Association of Ghana (MJA-Ghana) has congratulated Sheikh Abdul Nasiru-Deen on his appointment as Ghana’s Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Turkey.
In a statement signed by its General Secretary, Muyid Deen Suleman, the Association described the appointment as a “significant milestone” in the distinguished career of Sheikh Nasiru-Deen, who is noted for his contributions as a cleric, pharmacist, humanitarian, and statesman.
“This appointment marks a milestone in your career, and we take immense pride in the path you have diligently forged for yourself,” the statement said. “Your continued dedication, strategic acumen, and relentless pursuit of excellence have consistently distinguished you from your peers.”
The association also acknowledged Sheikh Nasiru-Deen’s role as one of the founding supporters of MJA-Ghana, commending his generosity and longstanding encouragement of the organisation’s work.
“We deeply appreciate your generous sponsorship of various activities, particularly your willingness to provide your office as a venue for our meetings some time past,” it stated.
MJA-Ghana expressed strong confidence in the Ambassador-Designate’s ability to advance Ghana’s diplomatic and development agenda in Turkey, especially in the areas of education, trade, religious diplomacy, and humanitarian initiatives.
“We are confident that your extensive expertise, fervent passion, and exemplary leadership qualities will empower you to make a profound impact in your new role, introducing innovative ideas and achieving admirable outcomes for the Muslim community.”
The statement further praised Sheikh Nasiru-Deen’s pivotal role in strengthening Ghana–Turkey relations over the years. He is widely credited with helping secure Turkish support for the construction of the Ghana National Mosque Complex—one of the largest mosques in West Africa.
“Your lifelong efforts to build bridges between Ghana and Turkey serve as a solid foundation for this next chapter in your service to the nation,” the statement noted.
The Association concluded with a message of goodwill: “Once again, congratulations, and may you relish the fruits of your labour.”
