In an interview with EA Uncut, the West Ham United forward revealed the inspiration behind his viral celebration.
“Nah, there’s not really, like, deeper meaning to it. I just thought about it as doing something different. A lot of people celebrate with knee slides and, all kinds of celebrations, but I just thought about doing something different. And then. Yeah, Glad it’s making the waves and other people, too are doing it.”
When asked if he feels excited seeing people replicate his celebration, he simply said, “Nah, it’s nice, you know, they can all join the team, one big family. We are all in the sport and entertainment, so, yeah, it’s nice.”
