Business Fair Achieves Biggest Success Ever

The Fire Department designated this year’s expo as a year of business settlement and introduced various programs to diversify domestic and overseas markets.

In order to revitalize the firefighting industry and the growth and development of related companies, one-on-one customized export and purchase consultations were held between domestic and foreign buyers and exhibitors, and at the same time, large domestic companies and public institutions (39 companies) were invited to establish and support a one-stop purchasing network from consultation to contract.

As a result, this year’s purchase and export consultation performance increased by about 4.5% to 82.1 billion won compared to last year’s 78.6 billion won, the highest ever. In addition, a live commerce broadcast was conducted so that people from all over the world could watch the expo site in real time, and introduced new technologies and new products from excellent domestic companies (7 companies).

Celebrating the 20th anniversary, pioneering a new field of exhibition

In particular, to commemorate the 20th anniversary of this year’s expo, an exhibition space was set up where visitors could see the achievements of the past and the development of firefighting technology in the past and present, which received a great response from visitors.

In addition, special theme halls such as the National Disaster Response Cooperation Hall, Smart Safety Equipment Hall, and Fire R&D Future Technology Cooperation Hall were operated to provide new experiences that have never been encountered before.

Germany, which participated for the first time this year with 11 companies, prepared a joint pavilion for firefighting equipment to introduce the latest European firefighting equipment and supplies to domestic firefighting companies and visitors.

In the outdoor exhibition hall, firefighting vehicles and equipment specialized for each type of disaster that can respond to recent large-scale incidents and accidents, such as special fire trucks and fire pump trucks in the United States, were exhibited, providing a good place for citizens to compare and experience.

Laying the foundation for overseas expansion and holding domestic and international academic conferences

In order to promote the excellence of ‘K-Firefighting’, the Fire Agency cooperated with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Defense Command, Dubai Civil Defense Authority, Vietnam Fire Department, and Uzbekistan to lay the foundation for overseas expansion, and acted as a direct advisor to the Philippine Fire Service regarding the purchase of firefighting helicopters.

In particular, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) National Defense Command (Commander Hamdan Ahmed Al Juyudi) signed an MOU and agreed to work together to promote public safety and strengthen firefighting capabilities in both countries.

In addition, 49 seminars and workshops specializing in firefighting technology were held simultaneously during the expo to strengthen academic exchanges and technical cooperation with domestic and foreign related organizations.

Meanwhile, the ’21st International Fire Safety Expo’ will be held at EXCO in Daegu from May 28 (Wed) ~ May 30 (Fri), 2025.

Nam Hwa-young, head of the Fire Department, said, “I would like to thank the officials of related organizations such as Daegu City and Exco and the firefighting industry for working hard together to make this year’s expo a business expo” and promised that “I hope that this will be an opportunity for the K-firefighting industry to take a leap forward, and we will continue to provide generous support so that our technology can become globally competitive and grow in overseas markets.”
