Euroget De-Invest S.A., the Egyptian company contracted to build the 250-bed Ashanti Regional Hospital in Sewua, has strongly condemned the recent commissioning of the facility by President Akufo-Addo.

In a statement, the company asserted that the commissioning was premature and illegal as full payment for the project had not been received.

“As the contractor, we retain possession of the site until the project is handed over correctly and legally,” the statement read. “We categorically did not grant permission to any party to enter the site for commissioning purposes.”

Euroget De-Invest emphasized that the project remains incomplete and criticized President Akufo-Addo for engaging in an “illegality” by commissioning the hospital before all contractual obligations were fulfilled. The company called on relevant authorities to thoroughly investigate the matter.

The commissioning ceremony took place just three days before the end of President Akufo-Addo’s term in office.
