Newly elected President of the Ghana Rugby Football Union, Rafatu Inusah, has expressed her commitment to ensuring the growth of the sport in the country.

Rafatu replaced Herbert Mensah, President of Africa Rugby, for the next five years after contesting unopposed.

She will be deputized by Vice-President Emmanuel Bamfi in addition to board members; Prince Kwaku, Emmanuel Kalos, Abdul Saeed Samed, and SaCut Amenga.

“We would like to push the agenda of Women Rugby especially with 15s. I take motivation and inspiration from some international women like Coralie van den Berg, working for World Rugby; with competence and ready to change the face of not only Women’s Rugby but Rugby in general.

“The Board I have now are going to support me for us to work hand-in-hand to promote, develop and grow the game of Rugby across Ghana.”

With their mandate now official, Rafatu and her team carry the hopes of further revitalizing Ghana Rugby, and ensuring a stronger representation on the continental stage.
