Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu has unleaded on the Minority accusing it of waging a campaign of disinformation against the 2025 budget.

The Minority have said the budget has loaded revenue to the office of the President while neglecting critical sectors.

The Minority have taken aim at the over 70 million cedis allocated in the budget for government Communications.

But Felix Kwakye Ofosu explained that the allocation caters for salaries of GBC workers, and other agencies which used to be under the former Information Ministry.

“Our colleagues on the other side know that the Finance Minister has provided evidence of mismanagement of the economy in the eight years that they were in power, they have begun to wage a campaign of misinformation with the view to demonising this budget. Many speakers on their side have made claims that are untrue about allocations in this budget made to the office of the President and Office of Government Machinery,” he said.

Meanwhile in his contribution, Former Minister for Defence Dominic Nitiwul insisted that the budget had clearly not made enough allocation to strengthen the country’s security and make citizens feel safe.

“One of the gravious problems facing this nation is security, the government inherited the sector most peaceful nation in Africa. Armed robbery is going up, and worst of all, galamsey has created serious insecurity in this country,” he said.

He added “he should be careful what he is doing, otherwise we may be having a bigger problem on our hands.”
